Psychosocial Recovery Coaching Support for Real Life
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is an NDIS-funded support for people living with psychosocial disability who need consistent, practical help to manage daily life, build capacity, and move toward recovery.
Unlike general Support Coordination, Recovery Coaching works more closely beside you over time, helping you strengthen skills, understand supports, build confidence, and take greater control of your life.
At NWU – Navigate With Us, our support is grounded in over 20 years’ experience across community services, corrective services, youth justice, complex mental health environments, and the NDIS.
We bring structure, compassion, and steady guidance to complex situations, helping participants and families feel more supported, organised, and understood.
Our online NDIS Recovery Coaching is designed for people who need more than surface level support.

We work alongside you to build stability, resilience, and structure, not just in theory, but in the reality of everyday life.
Our approach is grounded in professional expertise, lived experience, and a deep understanding of mental health challenges, trauma, and significant life transitions. This means we understand the system, but we also understand what it can feel like to navigate it.
Every session is focused on you, your goals, your capacity, and what is realistically achievable. Together, we look at the bigger picture of your life and develop practical steps that support sustainable progress.
Delivered via telehealth, sessions are accessible anywhere in Australia. Whether you live remotely or simply need flexibility, you can access consistent, high-quality support without the added stress of travel.
This is not a one-size-fits-all service.
It is structured, practical support with someone in your corner who understands both the system and what is at stake..
What Does Psychosocial Recovery Coaching Look Like In Real Life?
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is not about ticking boxes. It is about consistent, practical support when life feels difficult, overwhelming, or uncertain.
As we work together, we can:
Build a personalised recovery plan around your actual goals, not generic ones.
Identify your strengths and the real barriers getting in your way.
Help you develop daily structure, routines, and independent living skills.
Connect you with mental health, community, and mainstream services.
Navigate your NDIS plan and help make sure your funding is working for you.
Work with your family, carers, and other providers so everyone is moving in the same direction.
Support you through crisis, transitions, and moments that feel overwhelming.
Support is tailored to your individual goals, needs, and funding. Consistency is what helps build real momentum.
What Is A Recovery Plan?
A recovery plan is a practical, living document — not paperwork for the sake of it. It is a roadmap we build together around your goals, needs, strengths, and support network.
Together, we will:
Break your NDIS goals into clear, achievable steps.
Identify your strengths and the barriers we need to work around.
Map your goals to the services and resources available to you.
Clarify who does what, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Build in early warning signs, so supports can be adjusted before things escalate.
How Is Recovery Coaching Different To Support Coordination?
A Support Coordinator helps you understand and implement your NDIS plan by connecting you with the right services and supports. That is important work, and many participants benefit from having both supports in place.
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching focuses more specifically on mental health recovery, capacity-building, resilience, daily structure, and practical strategies for managing life over time.
The two roles complement each other, and many participants have both included in their NDIS plan.
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is funded separately under Support Category 07 of your NDIS plan.
Our current weekday rate is $105.43 per hour, in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. There are no out-of-pocket costs for participants who have Recovery Coaching funding included in their plan.
If Recovery Coaching is not currently included in your plan, you can discuss this with your LAC or planner at your next review and request it specifically.

Frequently Asked Questions *
-
A: A psychosocial disability is a mental health condition that significantly affects your ability to participate in daily life — things like managing relationships, looking after yourself, learning, working, or simply getting through the day. Conditions that may qualify include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe anxiety and depression, and OCD, among others. If your mental health condition is substantially impacting your daily functioning, you may be eligible for Recovery Coaching in your NDIS plan.
-
A: Recovery doesn't necessarily mean being cured. The NDIS defines recovery as achieving an optimal state of personal, social and emotional wellbeing — as defined by you — whilst living with or recovering from a mental health condition. It's about having more choice, more control, and more participation in your own life.
-
A: Yes — and for complex situations I'd strongly encourage it. They serve different purposes and work together to give you more comprehensive support. Your LAC or planner can advise whether both are appropriate for your situation.
-
A: Raise it at your next plan review. Ask specifically for Psychosocial Recovery Coaching under Support Category 07. Come prepared with information about how it will help you meet your goals — the more specific you are, the stronger your case.
-
A: If you're living with a mental health condition that affects your daily life and you need more than plan management — consistent, structured support focused on your actual recovery — then this is likely a good fit. Get in touch and we'll have an honest conversation about whether I'm the right person to support you.
